Description

Less active: I can teach simple stretches and exercises that can be done at/around the desk (many can be done in a desk chair!) to improve postural awareness and combat common physical ailments associated with desk jobs. Areas of focus will include the spine, shoulders, neck, wrists, and hips—all of which are negatively impacted by long periods of desk sitting.

More active: I can teach accessible sequences suitable for all ability levels and body types to offer movement as a physical, emotional, and mental respite from the many hours spent at a desk each week and to slowly build the foundations of a yoga practice.

Energetic

Description

I can teach some simple breathing exercises which can be done discreetly anywhere (at a desk, on a coffee break, etc.) that can reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood regulation, and either increase or decrease energy levels depending on a person’s needs.

Mental

Description

I can teach some simple meditation techniques that can be practiced for as little as 2-5 minutes to promote stillness and clarity in the mind. Over time (especially when practiced consistently) these practices help develop a stronger sense of self-awareness which leads to a number of significant mental benefits.
